Some will find it interesting. As well, others found themselves; cheering for the underdog as S.G. Services has always stood proud, never compromising integrity, to become a leader in the harsh & competitive public transportation industries, filed with trials and tribulation, bad economies, our Nations Terrorist attacks, & direct Competitor attacks.
What everyone finds is the Strong, Quality minded Company; set out determined to & has provided the Best Quality Service Available under any, and all circumstances the founder C. Todd Friar Sr. faced over the many years of S.G. Services relentless commitment to Quality Service in every Branch, & Division of Services provided by S.G. Services.
S.G. Services started out in 1994 providing an alternative to using the standard Taxi as a means to go out drinking / partying on the town; providing a Clean Cadillac or Mini Van operated by a Sharp Chauffeur, well dressed in a suit & tie. S.G. Services also provided Chauffeur to private couples, or parties to operate their Vehicles as DD’s, as well providing Chauffeur for local Limousine Services.
In 1996-97 S.G. Services started getting noticed by area Corporations as a Class Act. One thing leading to another and S.G. Services acquired its first account as an IV Drug, Delivery Service for home infusion patients. In 1996 SGS started the Medical Delivery Service Division of S.G. Services.
The next thing to Bless S.G. Services was a Major Corporation in the Telecommunications Industry gave us a call, with that call SGS became a major player in the Limousine Transportation Industry, now with our first big account as a Limousine Service, Our commitment to provide 1st Quality Prompt Service, and the path was paved to acquire over 60 different Corporate accounts. It was not long before the Workers Comp Ins. Industry started calling with contracts to begin transporting their Patients to and from appointments.
During this period & time:
Well as you might imagine it did not take long for the Taxi industry in Hickory NC to start feeling the threat of having to clean up their image. Long Story made short by the beginning of 1998 S.G. Services felt compelled to purchase Diamond Cab Company of Hickory Inc. in an effort to end a long battle with the other competitors. In January of 1998 S.G. Services became the holding Company of three new Companies Diamond Cab Company of Hickory Inc., Diamond Transportation, (Ground Transportation Specialist), & Diamond Delivery & Courier Service.
On September, 11th of 2001 as many remember the date as when terrorist attacked the United States. It also marked a date in the Limousine Industry as the day Ground Transportation stood still. (Stopped)! Many Limousine Services never recovered. And now the question of; “Lord God, What made S.G. Services buy this Cab Company” was answered and became clear. And quickly replaced by the answer of; “Lord God, thank you for giving S.G. Services this Cab Company”!
